How do I make an appointment?
We have two sites of service and 5 physicians in
our practice. Our main telephone number is (828)
254-8232. Our receptionist will be able to tell you
the closest site of service to your home. It would
be helpful to have your physician make the referral
for you so we can get your medical records from his
or her office.

How do I deal with insurance claims for office visits?
Our office will prepare and submit your insurance
claim for all office visits and in-office procedures.
If you have Medicare or participate with an HMO or
PPO, such as Cigna, Aetna, Blue Cross, etc., we will
file for you. Since we accept assignment on Medicare claims, the payment will be made directly to our office. Some supplemental plans will be automatically crossed over by Medicare and the payment will be made directly to our office.

How do I file insurance claims?
All claims filing is handled through our regional
business office in Raleigh, NC. They will file up
to two insurances (three if the third is Medicaid
or HMO) for you. In addition, they can supply a completed
claim form for you to file a third insurance, if necessary. Every
effort is made to supply correct information to the
insurance company, however, it is the patient's ultimate
responsibility to see that services are paid.

What if I don't have insurance coverage?
If you have no insurance, we request you see one of our financial counselors and set up a payment
schedule. It is advisable to discuss this situation
with your physician since there are many ways that he
may be able to assist you in getting financial help with the medications used to treat
you. There are other agencies that provide limited
assistance if application is made prior to treatment.
We can help you get in contact with these agencies.

Do I need a referral and how do I obtain one?
If your insurance requires a referral from your primary
care physician, it is the patient's responsibility to obtain
this before the date of service. We will notify you
by phone the day before your appointment if you need
to get an updated referral. You may have your primary care physician's office fax it to us at (828) 271-6588
or you can bring it with you when you come for your
appointment. If one of our physicians is your primary care physician and you need a referral from our office, we request that you call us at least 48 hours prior
to your appointment. We will have the referral ready
for you to pick up on the day of your appointment
or we will fax it to the physician you will be seeing.
