A Rich History of Cancer Care in the Mountains
At Cancer Centers of North Carolina - Asheville, we believe the most important aspect of our job isn’t just treatment,
it’s care. We’re a full service oncology practice consisting of four physicians, oncology-certified nurses,
a progressive laboratory and a friendly administrative staff. We’ve been here in the mountains for over 25 years,
and our practice is associated with other hematology-oncology practices within North Carolina including Regional Cancer Care
in Durham and Cancer Centers of North Carolina – Raleigh.
At the national level, our office has been associated with US Oncology, Inc., a practice management company, since 1995.
This association allows us to focus on our true passion: the treatment and survival of our patients. Meanwhile,
US Oncology provides our offices with management, facilities, administration, technical support and ancillary services
necessary to establish and maintain a fully integrated network of oncology care.
A Staff That Puts Patient Care First
Known for their kindness and genuine interest in every patient, our providers include: Doctors Barton Paschal, Don Jackson, James Puckett, and Jane Bramham, who work closely with Mission St. Joseph Hospital. We contract with the majority of large insurance carriers in the local area, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, United Health Care, Medicare and Medicaid.
Whether you’ve just started treatment or you’re almost finished, you won’t find anyone more understanding or experienced than our nurses. Our nursing staff is oncology-trained, following guidelines as developed by the Oncology Nursing Society to provide quality, state-of-the-art care.
Patient satisfaction is extremely important to us. In patient satisfaction surveys, patients report that they are pleased with both their medical and personal treatment. That’s because we are dedicated to taking the time to fulfill their needs and address their concerns, including those that deal with their treatment costs.
In August of 1996, we opened our Marion satellite office located at 63 South Medical Court in the McDowell Cancer Center. The Marion site is open every Wednesday. We are delighted to have recently opened an additional satellite office in nearby Clyde, NC. We are proud to be a part of the Marion and Clyde communities.
